What does 等 mean?
等 is a Japanese particle meaning “et cetera; etc.; and the like; and so forth” in English. It can also be translated as “or something, the likes of, for example” depending on context. It is written as 等 in kanji, など in hiragana, and nado in romaji. This word is part of JLPT N5 vocabulary.
