下り is a Japanese noun meaning “down-train (going away from Tokyo)” in English. It can also be translated as “down-slope, downbound (esp. away from Tokyo), downstream” depending on context. It is written as 下り in kanji, くだり in hiragana, and kudari in romaji. This word is part of JLPT N3 vocabulary.
