What does 一方 mean?
一方 is a Japanese noun meaning “on the other hand; meanwhile” in English. It can also be translated as “whereas, just keeps” depending on context. It is written as 一方 in kanji, いっぽう in hiragana, and ippou in romaji. This word is part of JLPT N3 vocabulary.
